Getting Started
👋 Welcome to ColorQueueList
ColorQueueList is designed for one thing: capturing your tasks as fast as possible while keeping everything visually organized with color-coded categories.
Here's the core workflow:
- Type your task in the input field
- Press Enter (or tap the add button)
- Done! Your task is added instantly
🎯 Understanding the Interface
The main screen shows your tasks grouped by category. Each category has a distinctive color, making it easy to scan and find what you need.
- Input field at top: Always ready for your next task
- Category tabs: Switch between different views
- Task list: Your items with checkboxes
- Completed section: Folded by default to keep focus
Adding Items
⚡ Instant Entry
The input field is always at the top, ready for your next thought. Just start typing—no need to tap anywhere first.
- Type your task and press Enter
- New items go to the currently selected category
- The input clears immediately for your next entry
✏️ Editing Items
Tap on any item to edit its text. The keyboard will appear automatically. When you're done, tap elsewhere or press Enter to save.
✅ Completing Items
Tap the checkbox to mark an item complete. Completed items move to a collapsed "Completed" section at the bottom. After 7 days, completed items are automatically deleted to keep your list fresh.
Categories
🎨 Color-Coded Organization
Categories are the heart of ColorQueueList. Each category has its own color, making visual scanning instant and intuitive.
- Free users: 3 fixed categories (Today, Tasks, Important)
- Pro users: Unlimited custom categories with custom colors and names
➕ Creating Categories Pro
Pro users can create unlimited categories:
- Go to Settings → Categories
- Tap "Add Category"
- Choose a name and color
- Your new category appears immediately
🔄 Moving Items Between Categories
Swipe right on any item to see category options, then tap your desired category. The item moves instantly with a smooth animation.
Swipe Actions
👆 Intuitive Gestures
ColorQueueList uses swipe gestures for quick actions:
- Swipe Right: Change category — see color buttons appear
- Swipe Left: Delete item — swipe far enough to confirm
These gestures work on both completed and incomplete items.
Templates
📋 Reusable Task Sets
Templates let you save groups of tasks for repeated use—perfect for:
- Weekly shopping lists
- Travel packing checklists
- Project task sets
- Morning/evening routines
Free: 1 template | Pro: Unlimited templates
💾 Creating a Template Pro
- Add items to a category as usual
- Go to Settings → Templates
- Tap "Save Current as Template"
- Give it a name
▶️ Using a Template
- Go to Settings → Templates
- Tap on your saved template
- Choose "Load Template"
- All items are added to your current list
Search & Filter
🔍 Finding Items Pro
Pro users get powerful search and filter capabilities:
- Search: Type to find items by text instantly
- Filter by category: View only specific category items
- Filter by status: Show completed, incomplete, or all
Data Backup
💾 Export Your Data Pro
Pro users can export all data as a JSON file:
- Go to Settings → Data
- Tap "Export Data"
- Choose where to save the file
Use this to back up your data or transfer to another device.
📥 Import Data Pro
Restore from a backup:
- Go to Settings → Data
- Tap "Import Data"
- Select your JSON backup file
- Choose to merge or replace existing data

🔄 Restore Purchase
If you've purchased Pro on another device or reinstalled the app:
- Go to Settings → Subscription
- Tap "Restore Purchase"
- Sign in with the same App Store/Google Play account
